These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Naman Singh Chandel ("Kuro", "we", "us") about using the Kuro app and this website. By creating an account you accept them, together with our privacy policy and our community guidelines, which are part of these terms.

Who can use Kuro

  • Kuro is only for people 18 and over. One account per person.
  • You must give your real date of birth. If you fake your age, your account is banned and erased the moment we find out.
  • You cannot use Kuro if we have banned you before, or if Indian law does not allow you to.
  • Kuro opens first in India. If you use it from elsewhere, you are responsible for following your local laws.

Your account

  • You sign in with an email address you own and keep. Keep your inbox and your login codes to yourself: Kuro will never ask you for a code.
  • Your pen name is permanent. It must not be your real name, contain contact details or pretend to be someone else, a brand or Kuro's staff.
  • You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.

Consent and the three promises

Heat rises only when both say yes. No means no. Silence means no. Never ask for photos, real names or numbers.

Heat levels, detail swaps, voice veils and sealed photos are things both people choose. Never pressure anyone into them. Either person can lower the heat or go back to a fuller veil at any moment. A heat level only changes the tone of a conversation between two consenting adults; it never allows anything in the next section.

Sealed photos

There are no profile photos. A sealed photo can be sent only inside a chat that has reached Kindred, the closest stage of trust, once both people have switched photos on for that chat, and only with Kuro's own camera. A photo with explicit nudity or sexual activity is never delivered. The person a photo is sent to sees it once, for a short time. Screenshots and screen recording are blocked everywhere in the app. Asking for photos, or pressing someone to switch them on, still breaks the three promises.

What is not allowed

On Kuro you must not:

  • involve anyone under 18 in any way, or say or share anything sexual involving a minor (this ends in a ban and is reported as the law requires);
  • threaten, blackmail or pressure anyone, including pressure to send photos;
  • ask for money, gifts, UPI or bank details, or run any kind of scam;
  • share someone else's details, messages or voice notes outside Kuro;
  • spread hate, harass anyone, or carry on after someone has said no;
  • pretend to be someone else;
  • use bots, scripts or automation, collect data about other people, sell anything, or try to break into or disrupt Kuro.

As India's IT Rules require, you must also not post or share anything that: belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share; is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades another person's privacy, including their bodily privacy; insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender; is racially or ethnically objectionable; promotes money laundering or gambling; is harmful to children; infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right; knowingly spreads false or misleading information; impersonates another person; threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, or incites an offence; contains viruses or other harmful code; or breaks any law in force.

Your content

  • What you write and record stays yours. You are responsible for it.
  • You give us permission to store it, process it (for example veiling your voice notes and checking text for signs of a minor or a scam) and deliver it to the people you send it to, only to run Kuro.
  • That permission ends when the content is deleted, for example when a season ends. Messages someone picks as evidence in a report are kept for safety review (see the privacy policy).

Safety and enforcement

  • We may review reported content, remove content, pause chats, warn you, limit what your account can do, or ban it. Every action comes with a reason that points to our community guidelines.
  • Smaller things get a private warning first. Minors, blackmail and scams lead to a ban straight away. A ban stays with your email (as a keyed hash), so signing up again does not undo it.
  • Some checks are automatic: if something you write suggests you are under 18, your chats pause until our team has looked. Warnings and bans are decided by people.
  • If you are banned, you can appeal from the sign-in screen. A person reviews every appeal within 7 days. For anything else, see Grievances.

Real people

Kuro is real people only. We do not run bots or paid hosts, and our staff do not pose as users. You must not use bots or automated accounts either.

Our role and liability

  • Kuro is an intermediary under India's Information Technology Act, 2000. People are responsible for what they say and share on it.
  • We do not check who people are or what they say about themselves. Take care, keep conversations on Kuro, and never send money.
  • We provide Kuro "as is" and work to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
  • As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for what other people do on or off Kuro. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Ending your account

  • You can delete your account at any time in the app: Me, then Delete my account (see Delete your account).
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or to protect someone. When the law allows, we tell you why.

Grievances

The fastest way to report something is in the app. For a formal complaint, write to our grievance officer: Naman Singh Chandel, grievance@theivies.in, Plot 1252, Sector 52, Gurgaon, Haryana 122011, India. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and answered within 15 days. More on the support page.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts at Gurgaon.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using Kuro after that, the new terms apply.
